F A Q

What is the difference between iMandarin and other mandarin schools?
- iMandarin is a certified by the Education Ministry as a training school for teaching Mandarin.
- All year round classes from total Beginner to Advanced with new classes starting every week.
- Superb locations in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou & Dalian. Each of our schools’ is located on major transportation routes in popular residential, business and commercial districts with modern and comfortable facilities.
- Small class size, with an average of 4-6 and maximum 10 students per group.

- Over 15 types of Chinese courses in China to choose from.

- Varied after-class activities and excursions for free or nominal fees.

For group classes
1.If I'm on a business trip and am not able to attend my lessons, can I make up the lessons at a later date?
Missed classes due to travel or business can be made up in the following group class at a later date within 6 months of the course starting for free. We can also arrange a private teacher to take you through the missed lessons, but an extra fee for private tutoring will be assessed.
Please remember to inform iMandarin at least one day before your scheduled absence in so that we can make the proper arrangements.

2.If I am not satisfied with my teacher, what options do you offer?
At iMandarin, your satisfaction is our utmost objective. If more than half the students in a particular class feel that the teaching is unsatisfactory, a new teacher will be appointed to the class. If only one of the students is dissatisfied with the teacher, the student can transfer into another class.

3.If my schedule changes and I can no longer attend the lessons, what happens with my remaining classes?
You can make up your remaining classes with a new schedule, or you can transfer your group lessons to individual instruction with the fees determined on a pro rata basis from remaining courses.

 

For Individual Classes
1.How much time is reasonable for me to master survival Mandarin?
Our 40 hour Intensive course takes place over 3 weeks. Upon completing this course, students will be able to deal with most simple, day-to-day activities in China. For students who want to have a deeper understanding of Mandarin, a longer time period (120 hours) will need to be invested.

2.How much time is required for each course level?
Each course needs 40-60 hours, depending on the level you choose. Classes are usually scheduled 2 - 3 times a week and last between 2 to 3 hours.

Corporate Training
1.What is your advantage in cooperate Training?
We study and understand the changing demands of business and therefore we have developed individual training modules and course settings for each corporation we work with. We are confident in our services, because of our customized company courses, featuring excellent teaching methods and practical course settings. All are custom designed to benefit your company.

2.Minimum training length?
Each course takes at least 50 hours to complete. We can set the schedule according to your specific requirements from Mon. to Fri. between 9am to 9pm.

3.How to fix training location?
You do! You can choose any appropriate location, either at your company or in one of our schools.
Visa Do you offer visa services?
Yes. We offer either an L visa for stays less than 90 days or an F visa for short-term training. With an F visa you can stay in China for 3 to 6 months. Students must first pay their tuition in full, and then the application process will begin. For clients who already have a visa, but need to transfer to an F visa, please contact us 10 working days before your visa expires.

Accommodations & Services
1.What accommodation do you have available?
iMandarin can help provide you with a hotel, serviced apartment, hostel, apartment or home stay to make your time in China more comfortable. All housing is within 15 minutes of your classroom. We have connections with major accommodation providers to ensure high quality and comfortable accommodation for our students. The price range depends on the type of accommodation you choose. 2.What other services do you offer during my stay in Shanghai?
Newcomers to Shanghai will be provided with information on the city, including information on restaurants, entertainment venues and healthcare. We also schedule trips and activities each month to treat students to a taste of Chinese culture.

3.It is the first time for me to come to Shanghai. Can iMandarin provide relevant services?
Yes, we have plethora of services designed to help you, especially for when you first arrive. Our major services are airport pick-up and city orientation, along with airline ticket purchasing.
Our expert staff will help you and your family to settle down in shortest possible time upon arrival to China and adapt to life as easily as possible.
To ensure the pickup process runs smoothly, we need to be informed of your complete flight details and accompanying family members at least 3 days before arrival, unless, of course, we booked them for you. No refund can be given if the schedule is changed within 12 hours. Upon arrival to either Pudong or Hongqiao Airport, we will greet you at the arrivals gate with a personalized sign and take you to your accommodation.
