Although China is now pushing for complete modernization there still exists many ancient roots explaining customs and behavior in modern Chinese society, often unfathomable to the outside eye. Therefore, it is unrealistic that a foreign visitor coming to China could immediately adjust to these customs, which often come into friction with their own habits.
